PEÂ is a high polymer, its crystallinity is relatively high, its comprehensive mechanical properties are much better than other plastics, for example, it has high strength, high hardness, and its elastic modulus is greater than ordinary plastics. Many, it has a specific strength and specific stiffness very close to that of metal materials; the impact strength and fatigue strength of polyoxymethylene materials are relatively high, and they have good wear resistance.
POM material structure
According to its synthesis method, polyoxymethylene resin has two types: homopolyoxymethylene and copolyoxymethylene. Homopolyoxymethylene is made by homopolymerization, and copolyoxymethylene is made by copolymerization. Although their molecular structures are linear, they are slightly different. Because the molecular structure is different, the performance is different. Compared with the two materials, homopolyoxymethylene has higher density, higher melting point and better strength, but its thermal stability and acid and alkali resistance are worse than those of co-polyoxymethylene materials; the thermal stability of co-polyoxymethylene is much better than that of copolyoxymethylene. And it is easy to form, so the development of co-polyoxymethylene is faster than that of homo-polyoxymethylene.
The deformation of POM material needs to reach a higher temperature, and its maximum allowable continuous use temperature is about 100°C. The thermal stability of POM material is relatively poor. It is easily decomposed under the influence of its temperature when heated, and it will age under conditions of light and oxygen. The temperature range that can make the polyoxymethylene material melt is relatively small. Once it is melted, its speed will be very fast and the solidification will be very fast. Its products are prone to surface defects such as freckles, wrinkles and other common materials when they are poured. It can be avoided only by adopting strict control on injection auxiliary equipment parameters and mold temperature control during injection molding. Polyoxymethylene is easily soluble in organic solvents, it can withstand dilute acids, but not strong acids.
